2. Underwriting Standards General The following is a description of the underwriting procedures customarily employed by Countrywide Home Loans with respect to fixed rate closed-end second lien mortgage loans.... Each applicant for a closed-end second lien mortgage loan must complete an application that lists the applicant’s assets, liabilities, income, employment history, and other demographic and personal information. If information in the loan application demonstrates that the applicant has sufficient income and there is sufficient equity in the real property to justify making a closed-end second lien mortgage loan, Countrywide Home Loans will conduct a further credit investigation of the applicant. This investigation includes obtaining and reviewing an independent credit bureau report on the credit history of the applicant to evaluate the applicant’s ability and willingness to repay. The credit report typically contains information relating to such matters as credit history with local merchants and lenders, installment and revolving debt payments, and any record of delinquencies, defaults, bankruptcy, collateral repossessions, suits or judgments. ... Full appraisals are generally performed on all closed-end second lien mortgage loans that at origination had a loan amount greater than $100,000. 3. THE STATISTICAL CALCULATION POOL Loan Programs
